How many different types of welding is there besides blacksmithing?
I've only heard of blacksmithing as a type of welding, but can anyone tell me the other types of welder there are? I'm 18 now and looking toward getting into welding once I finish my senior year.

Blacksmithing is not welding, rather a branch of Metalwork.
There are 4 main types of welding:
Gas Welding
Electric Arc Welding
Tungsten Inert Gas Welding
Flux Cored Arc Welding
Shielded Metal Arc Welding
You may enroll with American Welding Society (AWS) courses trains on them.

Thank you so much for the advice.

the e four main types of welding are: Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW). TIG welding is often considered the strongest weld since it produces extreme heat, and the slow cooling rate results in high tensile strength and ductility. MIG is also an excellent candidate for the strongest type of weld because it can create a strong join
Thanks for the help.
