In your opinion, how difficult is it for recent graduates of a college or job training program to get hired for a dentist job in the region of Salinas?
I'm currently in the Job Corps program, and I wanted more information on the career I want to peruse.

Hi Nathaly. Im a dentist so I wanted to answer your question.
I went on the jobs cor site - it was very cool to see all the trainings they do. I saw dental assistant on their trainings so I’ll focus on that. As a dental assistant, this position is in high demand across the US and we can’t find enough assistants with experience to fill our available positions. So finding a dental assistant job in salinas should be rather easy if the jobs cor has trained you and you have basic knowledge and experience. The state of california is unique and requires a radiation certification (X-ray certificate) and also a coronal polishing certification (polishing teeth after the hygienist does cleanings). Not every state requires this so make sure you get that and you'll be in a much better position to find a job. It’s also recommended to get your sealants certificate and Registered Dental Assistant certificate (RDA) afterward. there is a fee and a certain number of hours working in the field.
To find more info on what’s required as a dental assistant in California go to the link below.
If you’re looking into becoming a dentist, you’ll ever be unemployed. It’s very easy to find a job as a dentist anywhere.
