If I want to pursue a career in automotive design, where do I begin?
My dream is to one day design cars for companies like Aston Martin. I understand that I must pursue mechanical engineering, but where do I go from there?

Great question! Mechanical engineering is a great starting point. That will teach you a lot of the 'fundamentals' that you need to begin thinking about vehicle design.
"CAD" (Computer Aided Design) is a great skill to learn - it is designing something in 3D on your computer; there are some free softwares online to try it out, but would recommend taking a course in this if you have access.
Additionally, would reccomend learning the basics of manufacturing methods to help you understand what is feasible to design and not!

Follow your dream by taking the steps necessary to achieve it.
If you can do a dual major: Mechanical w/ Computer Engineering.
If you are in high school, take courses relevant to these majors.
Take AP courses and score high so that you have the least amount of resistance to secure admission and secure scholarship.
Crawl before walking and walk before you run. Once you come out from the reputed state/public or private (if you get the scholarship), the employers will line up for you to offer employment.
