Hello, Ahzier,
I have gone to many colleges because my interests change.
The first college I attended was a community college because I did not have the money to go to a university. I went to CCBC - community college of beaver county, to study architectural drafting. I graduated with a degree and worked for an architect for years.
Then I got interested in psychology - I was also married and now had the money to go to a bigger school. I went to La Roche College and got a bachelor's in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. Loved it. I got to work with lifers in prison in Pittsburgh, PA.
After I had children, I decided I wanted to go back to school while they were in school, and I chose writing and went for my MFA at Chatham University - which was amazing and fun - although I never completed it fully because we had to move for my husband's work.
Then after moving multiple times, I wanted to finish my degree and go even further - so I chose to study Ancient Wisdom at Ubiquity University at the Ph.D. level - and that's what I am doing right now. I have completed my classes, and now I am writing papers and researching.
Why so many schools and different interests? I'm human, and I'm curious. I love learning and will continue my whole life. I believe everything I've learned from all of these schools and teachers has helped me grow and become a more helpful person. I use all of my skills in what I do today. I hope this helps you in your decision to go to school -- I would definitely check out Ubiquity Univesity - as they are a global school and have classes all over the world and online. It's a lot of fun to meet students from so many countries.
Good luck with your choice!
Keep being curious.

I am a graduate of Colorado State Unviersity with a BS degree in Horticulture, Landscape Management and Nursery Production. I never really worked in the nursery trade but the basic horticulture concepts were important. I did use nursery concepts in later greenhouse work as they are closely aligned. I spent the next 10 years working in a variety of different jobs. I worked as a plant buyer for Safeway Stores and did sales and marketing work for several small greenhouses. After ten years, I decided I wanted to be a horticulture teacher at a community or technical college which required a master's degree. I attended the Unviversiry of CA Davis where I obtained my MEd in Communiry Development and Education. I'm not sure many community colleges now require a Masters degree and the trend seems to be hiring people with a bachelor degree and career experience.
get a bachelor degree in horticulture
gain work experience demonstrating a specific skill or knowledge base. Mine was horticulture marketing
identify teaching jobs as full time positions are few and far betweeen
be aware that you may need to move somewhere to gain the experience needed for your next career step
