What should I do?
I'm not sure what career path I want to take, I'm stuck between cement masonry, and going to fire school to become a firefighter. I enjoy both but I want a career I know I'll enjoy in the future as well.
What do you think? advice?

I think your heading in the right direction. I do know one full time fire fighter. I did reach out to him this morning but haven't spoken to him yet. It's a great idea you have doing fire and forestry. That will definitely get you on your way.

Hey Issac,
Very refreshing to see someone anticipating their career in something they enjoy, rather than chasing the $$ ie: Sales etc...
Personally, I wish I went down that route before getting locked into a career I don't enjoy too much.
In my own experience and lending to hindsight, I'd advise what hits home first when you think of the two... ie your gut feeling...
Which excites you more?
Which one can you see yourself developing in?
Do you enjoy helping people and working in a team or do you prefer to work autonomously?
Whichever route you decide, Im sure you will do well in both - Sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders.
Don't stress it too much - life has a way of putting you in the right place for the right time
Best of luck!

Hi Isaac,
Interesting both careers sound great. Do you happen to have any friends/relatives in the field? Maybe getting feedback from their experiences would help you determine your choices. Maybe you can do both being a Fireman and cement masonry independently. Do a self-questionnaire for yourself to help you determine more of your choice. Maybe 10 responses about why you like each career maybe you might have more answers for one than the other. Pro/Cons of each one too. What resources do you count on to get you started?
Make a visit to Fireplace, talk to people there about their daily routine looks like.
Do you want to be Cement Masonry with a company or yourself?
Which career offers more of what you are looking for.
Which one did you want to do first? what changed and why?
Which one do you see yourself doing in the future?

Hi Isaac. Well looking at the two career paths take into account what will be most beneficial long term. You want to understand what benefit each career offers. I know people in both of your fields. The firefighter is very happy with his job and it provides him great benefits that include health care and retirement.

Do you have an opportunity to volunteer or spend a day in that profession? If you could, see which one you enjoy doing more!
