It really depends on what area of agriculture you go in to. With that said, thinking about the industry as a whole, it tends to be lower paying, and so becomes more of a labor of love; if you are financially motivated, this can be a disappointing industry. You are also at the mercy of the weather, and supply/demand are the main drivers for what sells when, and for how much. However, you WILL meet some of the hardest working people, and will make lifelong friends and connections. This is an industry that will always need strong minded, and forward thinking people. If you are looking for a sense of community and want to work with passionate people, agriculture is a great industry to consider.

You have to remember that you're never promised a good yield of crop. Weather patterns, storms, disease, insects, weeds, animals.. these can all make farming a very challenging career or life. But it can be rewarding and fulfilling to know that what you do brings food to the tables of many families including your own. Farming isn't a fairly profiting business unless you're capable of good yields and sale prices, as well as the amount of acreage you own.
Equipment repairs can take quite a toll as well.

Agriculture tends to be lower paying jobs that require a lot of physical labor.
That being said, it is one of the most important career fields out there!
