How do you go about finding an internship?
I have decently bad social anxiety, but I need and want different internships so I can figure out what I want to spend my life doing. I was wondering, and hoping, if there were any online resources to use to find businesses and people open to taking me in. I would simply perish if the only way to get an internship is to call random places and hope for the best.

I'll second LinkedIn and even indeed. Social anxiety is difficult. There's definitely different types of internships as far as figuring out what you want to do and you may want to consider "job shadowing" instead. Some companies take internships very seriously because everyone wants to work for them and it's not so much a job exploration opportunity as it is a 3 month long job interview. In those types of internships they expect you to desire to work for them. That's more typical of large large companies (Walmart, Amazon, etc).
However, on LInkeding, indeed, glassdoor, etc...you can find lots of internships with smaller companies if it's just for exploration and they're often easier to be open with and talk to about your desire to find your path. Junior companies/startups are great ones to reach out to online. You can often ask businesses locally as well if they'd be interested in letting you work for them over the summer as an "intern" if you explain to them you're trying to find your path.

Hi Madison,
LinkedIn is a great resource to find internships! You can update the fields with your location, education, volunteer service, other work experience, etc. and LinkedIn offers suggests of job openings that are suitable for you. Even if the suggestions may not be what you had in mind, you can search other fields that may be of interest to you. On LinkedIn the more connections you make, the more people you can network with to be exposed to opportunities. LinkedIn also has tutorials and online "classes" relative to searching for jobs, interview preparation, etc. so those are great resources as well! When it comes to choosing a position that interests you, be sure to read the job descriptions and see if it's something that is appealing to you and you can picture yourself doing.
Best of luck in pursuing an internship!

Hi Madison, Internships can be difficult to get. Linkedin is an online program than offers the opportunity for connections with professionals who have similar interests. I would also reach out to people you already know, family, friends, people in your religious group if you have one, who may have similar interests and would be willing to have you shadow them in their work. In that situation you may also meet others who can make other connections for you. Ask your school guidance office for internet research options that can give you ideas of what different careers entail related to social interactions. Some jobs require minimal social interactions so your social anxiety does not interfere too much with your chosen career. You might also try to connect with a counseling professional who can guide you to develop skills that may lessen some of your anxieties. Hope this helps.
