How do I begin applying?
How do I begin applying for a college? How should I know which one is best for me? What if you don’t know what to major in?

Hi Darriyus!
High five! First of all for taking charge of your future! I’m glad you are taking the initiative to ask questions and plan ahead for college. Juan already gave you some good information but I have a little more to add.
Just wanted to let you know, in order to save money, I went to a community college first and transferred and graduated from a state university. I purchased used text books that the professors still approved on using. I didn’t know what I wanted to do at first so I took general education courses at the community college that still fulfilled the requirements needed to transfer to a state university and get my bachelors degree. I had a friend that wanted to go into nursing so she wanted me to take prerequisites before applying to the program and to also volunteer.
Volunteering and internships are a good way to see if you like that kind of work. I also did an externship while in the nursing program. It turned out that my friend didn’t want to go through with nursing and I went through with it on my own. Then graduated and here I am in the workforce.
College is going to be an adventure rollercoaster. You really have to be self motivated. Try your best, keep asking questions, and stick to people that will encourage you and keep you accountable.
Good luck!
