Melissa’s Answer

In my experience, it is never too early to begin actively exploring what career may be best for you, but you don't need to feel pressured to make a final decision right away. If you’re still in high school, you can take steps to explore future careers and figure out what interests you and what may be a good fit. You can complete a summer internship in a field that interests you, take career interest tests to discover potential career paths that you may have never considered in the past, research the academic and professional requirements related to your current dream job(s), or get a part-time job to begin to develop your professional and/or people skills. If you are choosing to attend college and haven't decided on a career path when you start, that's okay! It is normal to start college by studying a variety of subjects before you decide firmly on a major or path to a certain field.

It is never too early to start to start learning about careers and the options that are out there. I think the best way to learn is to have conversations with people that work in various jobs. People are often very accommodating when asked to discuss their careers and jobs.

Hi,
It is always a good time to start thinking about what career you want to choose. Although there is no exact answer for this but in my opinion high school is a good time to think about what career you want to take

If you are in high school it is a good time to explore your likes and dislike about career choices you have in mind. Connect with people in the career you want to explore and understand their role.
If you are in college, you can connect with alumni to see what kind of career people go with with similar subjects.
There are plenty of resources online to know details about most of the career choices. I would suggest making a list of all possible careers options you have in mind and then explore each of them. In the end you will have a clearer picture of what you want to do in future.

Thank you for your question. It is a common question to many students. You can start your career planning any time. This may affect your choices of the subjects in high school and college.
Below are my suggestions on your career planning :
1. Think bout your hobbies, favorite subjects, etc. and the related careers
E.g. If you are interested in Maths, would you like to be an accountant, engineer, banker, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc.
If you are interested in Music, would you like to be a musician, composer, singer, music producer, music teacher, etc.
2. Find out more on these career and determine the careers you may have interest
3. Speak to someone working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career counsellor, your parents, etc.
4. Shortlist 1-2 career you would like to pursue
5. Find out the relevant subjects on these careers
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
