A lot of people pushed for deciding your career in high school when I was in school. That is to help you choose colleges and majors so you don't end up paying a ton of money for something you don't use.
I think that's a lot of unnecessary pressure. If you haven't figured out what you like yet but you want to go to college, go to a community college to get your generals and a more information. That's much more affordable. Then you can transfer if you find that the program you want isn't at that school.
It's not a bad idea to find a job out of highschool and just keep researching what careers you might be interested in while working and maybe saving money.
There are so many avenues you can take and it all depends on your own preferences. So looking into what you like as Antonio said is a great first step.

Hi Merlina!
The best time to look for career options is now but you don't need to have a plan. It's good to just understand what options there are and where you are more interested in. When I was in high school, I knew for sure that science/medicine did not excite me but business was somewhere I thrived in. So my advice would be for you to figure out what you like and dislike based on classes you've taken. If you thrive in classes like math and reading then you should look into business related career options and read about them. If you thrive in science, you can look into different science related options like veterinarian/nursing/med school/etc. There are so many options but I believe this starts with figuring out what you like and going from there. You won't know exactly what you want to do but you'll get an idea of what you want to look into and based on that you can apply to colleges that have specialize in what you like. Another thing I did when I was in high school is go through LinkedIn and look up professionals in the area I wanted to go in. I set up interviews with them and asked them questions about their profession. This was super helpful and I think once you figure out an idea of where you want to go, you can ask people in the field currently about advice and their thoughts.
Good luck and don't stress! You have time to figure out your path!
