Chirayu’s Answer

Make a schedule and plan out your day, including classes, homework, extracurricular activities, and free time. Prioritize tasks and focus on the most important tasks first and tackle them during your most productive hours. Take breaks and schedule short breaks between tasks to rest your mind and avoid burnout. Eliminate distractions and find a quiet study space, turn off your phone, and avoid social media during study time. Stay organized and use a planner or calendar to keep track of deadlines and upcoming assignments.

Walter’s Answer

The best way is to set a schedule for yourself. Organization and planning will come a long way. I found what helped me manage my time in highschool was having an agenda (or app on phone) to plan out your days. Doing this allowed me to visualize what tasks would take more time than others. I was able to plan my days in a way where I was able to set freetime after the main school tasks where done. It takes time getting in the habit of writing things down and planning ahead, but it makes a world of difference and allows you to maintain focus once you see how your day is set up. I also found that this helped me through college when my class schedule was all over the place.

Claire’s Answer

I am based in Ireland so have never experienced high school. However, my current occupation is as an assistant to 3 busy executives so I have to be very good at managing their time for them! A daily to do or task list is very important in my role, this way I know what absolutely needs to be completed today and what can wait until tomorrow. I also love the satisfaction of crossing things off that list :-)! Basically prioritising is very important. There are always those jobs that you really don't want to do so you put them off until they become a thorn in your side. You will sleep a whole lot better if you just jump right in to these items and then you can move on to the items that you are less intimidated by. Most important advice I can give is that no matter how much you think you have to get through, always set aside time in your schedule for yourself. Whether it's to eat lunch or get a good night's sleep. You will not get anything worthwhile completed if you don't set aside time to look after yourself. Good Luck!

Rebecca’s Answer

Thank you for your question. This is a very common question to many students.
Below is my suggestions :
1. Identify a time management tool that suits you, e.g. Calendar in your phone, Microsoft Outlook, etc.
2. Put in your school time
3. Assign some time everyday for doing assignment/projects and revision
4. Make sure you have enough time for rest
5. You can then allocate the remaining time for your leisure, exercise, friends & family gathering, etc.
You don't need to fill up your entire schedule. You can keep some 'Me' time to relax and reflection.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Steven’s Answer

Create a list of all things you must do then add what you'd like to do. Prioritize them all by order of how important they are to you (hopefully school related things like studying and doing homework/assignments will be at the top of the list). Use a paper calendar and block out the times so you see how all the must do items can be accomplished then add any available time to do the "want to items." Once you have this set for the next week or two copy the times to the one on your phone. Set reminders for a day before, an hour before, and if the "event" is something like attending a class on Zoom or meeting up with a friend to IM set one for 10 minutes before.

Steven recommends the following next steps:

Determine the things you must do
Determine things you want to do
Prioritize the items
Map them out on a paper schedule
Copy them to a phone schedule and set alarms

Michael’s Answer

Echoing a common theme. Make a list and prioritize your to do's. During this time of your life, it's good start to build good habits because it's easy to stray from your list. Time management can process can be something as simple as saying what you want to do in a short period of time. For example, set aside time to just do basic things. Make a contract with your self to be diligent about that list and over time you will see that it becomes second nature and you can start adding to your list over time.
