Nicole’s Answer

Hi Daniela - I don't have expertise in forensics but would encourage you to add your biggest accomplishments such as complex projects you completed in school and/or any achievements outside of school.
Thank you comment icon Nicole, thank you! Daniela

Jennifer’s Answer

Hi Daniela,

I would advise looking at the job or internship description and associating any keywords with your experience and expertise.

Forensic medicine is heavily lab-based so any experience you may have studying PCR, molecular gastronomy, toxicology, or running other blood labs, dissection, cell staining, histotechnology, human anatomy and physiology, etc. can't hurt!

Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, ability to work well on a team, and strong oral & written communication is helpful as you're usually working on a small team very closely (this is where strong verbal skills are important as well, as you'll need to communicate what you are seeing, and doing - and documenting charts, case notes, and even court statements as part of the chain of custody.
