Hansi’s Answer

In my opinion - Career is something that you enjoy pursuing where at times you have to spend hours in a day.
If 'Hobby' is for personal lives - then 'Career' is for Professional life.

Job is where you 'have to' work to earn money and secure your income. But career is something where you invest your professional life and make your reputation and develop your personality.

Christopher’s Answer

The easiest way to justify a career is something that allows you to grow within the company. Growth could be just knowledge gained and it could be career progression. Collecting a paycheck is more than just having a job a career is growing in a trade of your chosen path.

Marc’s Answer

I was always told that a Career is a living and a Job stands for Just Over Broke. I'm 35 and I've worked in many industries, started my own business and still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. The best advice I can give is be flexible, many people do not end up where they started, there is zero reason to stay miserable at something because you feel like you are obligated to a career path or industry. Success is a self established perception and often changes as you change. When I hit adulthood I wanted title and money and as my family and responsibilities grew I wanted to provide but spend time with my family, now that my children aren't so small I want to help people achieve their goals, make an impact that outlives me. Write out your dreams, where you want to end up and work backwards from there. Whether its a CEO of a company or Retiring at 50 to travel, research what it takes and make realistic goals to get there. It will undoubtedly change but you will make progress towards something. Goals may change but the journey will always move you forward, to what end... that's for you to decide.

Teresa’s Answer

A career is the professional path of learning and development that you take within organizations. Most of us start our careers by looking for a role that aligns with our interest and skills and build on that over the years. A career can change along the way, but what's most important is that you enjoy going to work, are learning and have a sense of purpose from what you do.
