Nail tech?
What was the most difficult thing as a starter? What would you recommend to a starter? Was it hard at first? Any education that I might need? If so what kind?

Hello Salome,
If you are still in school, you may want to contact the Applied Technology Center of Rock Hill District 3 Schools. They have a cosmetology program which includes nail tech and can provide a SC Board of Cosmetology license when the program is successfully completed.
Even if you are not a student or do not want to pursue a vocation as broad as Cosmetology, you may still be able to get some answers to your questions by contacting the school!

Best of luck!

Hello! Im not a nail technician but know mine really well. She began her career as an aesthician (no idea how to spell that) to gain knowledge about skin, nail, etc. She then moved into brows and lip tatooing; eyelashes. She makes alot of money. Her education really helped her grow her career in all the areas. I know she had to take training and get a certificate in each of those areas. If you pay attention to your clients you'll grow your clients. Good luck!

Hello there. I am not familiar with the nail tech field, but I would like to suggest you visiting your location nail salons and look for opportunities to become an apprentice. Ask questions about how the nail techs got their start. This is a very lucrative business. Creativity and artistry is an added talent that you can use as an advantage. I would also recommend going to school for business. This will help if you want to pursue entrepreneurship. Once you build your clientele, you may want to start your own business. Good luck!

Hi Salome, While I'm not a nail tech myself , a good friend of mine is she started out self teaching her self with YouTube , then she went to local Cosmetology school that connected her to a local salon for work afterwards , she has spent the last year with that salon and has been able to build clientele so when she branches off on her own she will be able to have a strong start. Look into a local cosmetology school getting your license is most important to start .
