The first step: decide what your career should be. And then be ready for wanting something different in 5, 10, 20, 30 years. When are you happiest? Is there someone you wish to emulate? Find out what this person did. I don’t know how anyone can expect a 15 or 16 year old to know specifically what they want! But figure out your ultimate goal: to help people with their health? To make a lot of money so you support good causes? To build something? Start with this!

Ask a few reflective questions as you map out your career trajectory. Ask yourself questions like:
- Do you enjoy individual work or group work?
- Do you enjoying leading teams and managing people?
- Do you enjoy traveling or wouldn't mind traveling for work?
- Do you prefer working on a project/task for a long period of time or different projects/tasks every day or periods of time?
Find a career that matches your interests and discover what it looks like to be in that career long term. Then set your short term and long term goals. Break them down to daily and weekly goals so you're working towards them continuously. Just remember your career plan can always change as you learn along the way.
