Truck drivers generally need a CDL which you can obtain by attending a Truck Driving School. There are private ones and there are ones available in a lot of technical/vocational schools as well. The country needs more truck drivers too and a lot of these companies pay well especially if you are able to drive semis. Goodluck! You are young and on a great start!

Hello Corey,
I'm not a truck driver and don't know exactly what to suggest, but since you live in Rock Hill you might contact York Technical College where they have a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) program. https://www.scetv.org/stories/tags/your-path-your-journey
Phone: (803) 325-2888
The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles has a lot of information about CDL certification:

Rock Hill District 3 Schools provides Automotive Technology courses at the Applied Technology Center that might be of interest to you and beneficial in you career choice. Otherwise, working on math and communications skills during high school would certainly be important.
Also, just for your interest, South Carolina ETV has a short video about truck driving that might interest you. The video also mentions obtaining a CDL: https://www.scetv.org/stories/tags/your-path-your-journey
As a 9th grader, you have plenty of time to consider your career but in the meantime, keep your driving record clean!
Good luck and safe driving!

Corey,
A truck driver can be an awarding career since it pays well and there is a need for more drivers. You will need your drivers license and obtain a CDL class A. CDL is a commercial drivers license. Many trucking companies will offer free training when you sign up with them. For example, Melton Truck Lines in Tulsa, OK provides free training through their own driving school. As said on this post, keep your driving record clean and develop good driving habits early. Be safe and I hope you will be successful in your endeavors.
