Ashutosh’s Answer

If you want to be a game developer, start looking at how you can develop very simple games using any programming language that you may know. You may have played simple games like hangman, tic-tac-toe, bricks, etc. When I started learning programming, these are the kind of games are I built. You have to just do a single simple step at a time. I remember my friends and I developing the shooting game in Visual Basic that was very simple in the beginning and based on how my other friends played, we kept on adding simple features and we released 17 versions of that game in the day. Eventually similar thing happened when I was developing brainvita and volleyball games in HTML.

So, it would be the best is to start with a simple game that you played or know of and see what it takes to develop that. That will give you ability to think logic and develop more complex things eventually.

Hello Shamarr,

There are a number of programs that you can attend to further your goal in regards to a career in computer programming. I would suggest checking out STEM [Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math] programs in your area. I have listed a few below. Also look into your local community colleges, and universities and see what programs they offer. There are big careers in gaming and cyber security and the demand for these coders are at an all time high.

Good luck to you.

Some options include joining a computer meetup or competition or hacker event. I think even better is to not rely on others "pushing" you. YOU can (and should) do this yourself very easily by simply being a dedicated learner, building projects, and reading/studying! Being SELF-motivated is critical in this field. Push yourself! Good luck.
