Veterinary school is 4 years. In order to get accepted to veterinary school though, you need to complete specific college course requirements first. Usually the entire process ends up being 8 years. You can do it potentially in 7 years if you are able to complete your undergraduate degree with the veterinary school required classes in a span of 3 years.

In addition to coursework, you are also required to show interest in the field prior to application. This includes two sections one working specifically in veterinary medicine (via employment as a vet assistant or shadowing a veterinarian) as well as animal volunteer hours (working with a shelter/rescue, working at a doggy daycare, etc). Especially if you don't achieve the most optimal grades, showing a lot of animal interest hours can really help your impact.
