Hi Ethan, while I'm unsure how long this particular website has been in operation, the focus is to help connect the youth (such as yourself) with working professionals to answer their questions. A secondary aspect of this website, is to offer support for youth that may lack role models or have someone to ask their question to- although this certainly does not apply in all or even most cases. If you have any career questions, or even if you know what you'd like to do with your life- you can ask and someone from that industry may be online to give tips or help. Best of all- it's totally free. Professionals like myself, who deeply care about the youth want to act as resources for you. I hope you have a great night! Thanks, Melle B

Hi Ethan!
Purpose:
The purpose of this website is to allow you to find the answers to your career questions so you can enter the workforce well-prepared. You may have questions about which jobs would be a fit for you, or what you need to do to prepare for your target job, or how to overcome obstacles that you may be facing in your education or work life. We are here to get those questions answered. As of right now (early 2023), there are over 125,000 industry professionals who have signed up to answer questions, so you can pretty much ask a question about any career you might be curious about. If you don't have a question right now, the other option you have is to browse through the questions that are being asked by other people on the site -- it's often very helpful just to see what people are thinking about or exploring.
History:
This website started at the very end of 2011 as a non-profit organization. The idea since the very start has always been to help people prepare for careers. At the time, it was a very small project just for a few classrooms and a handful of volunteers. It grew over time, slowly at first, and faster as time went on. Now it's quite a large community!

Hi, Ethan,
Any question related to career choices, college, getting a job, or similar is fine here. Some students have definite career plans and ask about college choices. Others are just starting to contemplate education and career that will follow high school, and ask broader questions. Professionals cover a broad area, and most questions receive several responses, each showing a slightly different perspective. My suggestion: if in doubt whether the question is a good fit, ask anyway, because you will still receive an insightful response. Thanks for asking.
