What does a day in the life of a K-9 narcotics dog look like?
I am searching for a career that encompasses an animal but is not an everyday job.

Hello Delcy.
Not sure what you mean by “not an everyday job”. Being a K9 handler is a everyday job and takes a lot of dedication. Being a K9 handler is not only a very rewarding job but very demanding. You are on call and are not only responsible for your safety and the safety of other officers but also you are responsible for your four legged partner.

I'm not sure what you mean by "not an every day job" but you could look into working with dogs in a correctional facility. Many have rehabilitation programs which use dog training or dog care.
Best of luck.
