Hi Angel,
You can leverage sites such as Indeed.com (https://www.indeed.com/jobs?q=Security+Officer&l=San+Jose%2C+CA&vjk=dadb43a2f4d08798) which provided 731 security officer jobs currently open in the San Jose area. You can also conduct a google such for "security guard companies in San Jose" whic will provide you with local and national security services companies (regional offices) and go to their "careers section" to review and apply for any current openings they may have.
Good Luck!

I recommend you find out more about this career by talking to some security guards. This field is pretty diverse. Some security guards will work for security service companies such as Pinkerton, while others might work for smaller private companies. Hospitals, transportation authorities, colleges and larger companies have their own security departments.
If you feel awkward walking up to a stranger and interviewing them, please know that people love to talk about what they do and share advice based on their experience. I would not approach someone who is obviously busy working, but I bet that you will find a lot of people willing to talk to you when things are not busy.
Prepare ahead of time by thinking about what questions to ask, and what you want to know. I have some sample questions below, but I'm sure you can think of other things you want to know. Imagine the environment you'd want to be working in, and let that be your guide.
Introduce yourself: Hi my name is Angel. I'm a student at ____. I am considering working in security, and wonder if I could ask you a few questions about your job.
How did you get interested in working in security? How long have you been doing it?
What sort of training do need for this job? What is the work like? What are your duties?
What kind of company do you work for? How did you get hired by this company?
What advice do you have for me starting out in this line of work?
Being in security is fundamentally about handling people with control and confidence, so interviewing some security guards will itself be good preparation for this career.
Good luck!

I would visit places where you want to work and ask the security team if they are hiring there or at other locations. It's very old school but an in person form of networking can be more effective coming out of a pandemic. LinkedIn is another great way to connect with security companies and show that you understand the importance of having connections. They can also immediately access your profile and learned about you and your interests.
