Where is the best place to look if I want a job in music therapy?
I'm asking because one of my interested majors is music therapy, and I want to make sure that I know where to search for jobs if I end up choosing that career. #musictherapy #music #music-therapy #therapy

Hello, Claudia!
I would say as a music therapist, I have found the most jobs to be available in city-like environments. Most music therapists you’ll find work in school systems, hospitals, nursing homes, or adult day-hab programs so I would definitely search those work environments in the area in order to know what music therapists are already hired in programs such as those or what that area might need as far as music therapy goes.
If you are looking at a specific city and are finding that there are not many music therapists around, private practice is always a great route! Contract work can be a great way to introduce music therapy to the community if there are not many music therapists already available.
Most major cities around the United States will have music therapy jobs so I would definitely begin searching in city environments and then go from there depending on what you want/need!
Best of luck to you on your journey! Jobs are certainly out there and music therapy has such potential to grow.
