Job creation: Agriculture provides employment opportunities for millions of people worldwide, including farmers, farm workers, food processors, and distributors.
Economic development: Agriculture is a vital component of many national and local economies, contributing to economic growth and development through exports, trade, and investment.
Environmental stewardship: Farmers and other agricultural producers have an important role in managing natural resources such as soil, water, and biodiversity, and promoting sustainable land use practices.
Research and innovation: Agricultural research and innovation have led to advances in crop and livestock production, food processing, and conservation, among other areas.

Agriculture is exactly as you stated jennifer. Its farming and cropping. You can have your own farm or you can be a farm hand, someone who assists the farmer with his or her crops and animals.
