One of the benefits to working with athletes is learning about work ethic. You can learn alot from playing a sport but working with other athletes and teaching athletes is a huge eye opener. You will be able to see rather quickly those that are willing to not only put in the work to get better but learn from others.
If you are interested in working with athletes as a profession, I would suggest getting involved with youth sports. This will go a long way in developing your teaching strategy as well as patience.

Working with athletes has a lot of benefits. I've listed some below:
- If you are a former athlete or sports-lover and you get a job in sports, you get to continue to be around that sport even after you stop playing. Many former athletes deeply miss their sport and aren't able to play it or be around it much because they get a job outside of Athletics.
- As a coach or any time of leader in Athletics, you get to give back to younger athletes by helping them grow, develop and improve.
- Depending on your role, you may get to travel with the athletes, which is a cool experience.
- You get to wear comfortable clothes to work (sweats, shorts, t-shirt, etc.). This is the least significant of them all, but it's a nice perk!
