This is definitely worth taking time and recognizing - first off congratulations for becoming a social worker!!!! As a health care worker myself -
it is not easy to say the least when we dedicate ourselves to service...... now! the beauty of that is we unlock even more abundance than others (I know I sound like the easter bunny...or some cartoon..)
First off - for you to be able to not be bitter about your accomplishment and instead acknowledge it's value yet also not be caught up by any "limitation" is amazing! Take a minute to acknowledge that..!
Second - this might be hard? Not sure? - Are there any other potential envisonments of yourself? I mean mine are as insane as I am... - like the acupuncturist who is also a model/actress/star/fashionista - blah blah lol - I have managed to achieve some of that.... - I am asking this for a reason - it's to discern whether or not you truly desire a career tied to an MSW (which honestly might just reiterate your last stint?) -
OR are you more entpreneurial? By that I mean - you're toally willing to take the "gaze" of an MSW (empathetic, psychological; well versed in the current instituional/governmental topography... and it's loopholes...) ? - It's ironic you ask this becauase had I known I would need to be certified in a degree like that to supplement my current work in psychiatry I wouldn't be seeking out potential avenues for the near future...
Third - Is there anyone like a mentor? or someone you feel comfortable with that can ask the most fitting questions, listen and respond that is NOT part of your immediate circle??? - If not - contact me or I'd refer you to a coach. Here's the thing - future is unwritten and you don't want to try and ask someone who has such a preconceived myopic rigid view - its kinda why you became an MSW... to liberate out of that.. am I right?
Kudos for the courage to go this point!!!
