How do you gain money while in college?

What are some of the best ways to make and gain money when you are in college

Thank you comment icon I worked a part time job during college and would switch over to full time in the summer when not taking classes or only taking one or two. This helped me save some money in the long run . During the day I'd work and on evenings I'd attend classes/focus on school work. I only worked Monday-Friday and allowed myself time to catch up with any assignments on the weekend as well. You could look into just working weekends if you don't feel comfortable working and doing school all in the same day or just doing part time. Wendy

I would highly recommend looking for an on-campus job. That way they'll be more flexible with your class schedule and you'll have the convenience of already being on campus.

Hi, Michael. There are a multitude of different options when it comes to earning money in college. Some students will get a part time job working at the school. You can also get part time jobs at surrounding stores to work around your schedule. You may get luck enough to get a paid internship in your field. This is the best way because you get to earn money and continue to learn in your field.

A good way to get money while in college I found was doing as many scholarships as possible.

Also, try finding an on campus job. Usually, these are work / study positions and allow you time to study while working.

I tried to utilize my abilities in certain subject areas.

So, I was able to find a job in the college academic assistance center as a tutor.

It really helped as far as making extra income, and I gained valuable experience, which helped me get my foot in the door for other positions in education.

Getting either a part-time job or a full-time job would be the right direction. When I was in college, I bartended in the evenings and school during the day. It was hard with the nights that were very late, but it's what I needed to do. I did give myself a day off to have some sort of school, life balance.
There are a lot of employment opportunities that will work around your school schedule. If the job you find has down time, you could use that time to study etc. When you do find a job, it all stems down to having a good routine.

Thank you for your question. A lot of students have similar question.
This question can have 2 parts: 1. time management, 2. the job.
Below are my suggestions:
Time Management
1. Identify a time management tool to help you. E.g. Your phone calendar, MS Outlook, etc.
2. Lock the time you have to attend classes
3. Assign some time every day for assignment and revision
4. Make sure you have enough time for rest
5. You can find what time remains for the part time job
Part time job
1. You can consider to work in school library, fast food chains, supermarket, babysitter, etc.
2. Alternatively, Have you thought about what you have interest or strength? You can consider to run a small business online.
You will have stable income under option 1. However, option 2 gives you more stability.
Having said that, please ensure the job is suitable to you. Safety is important.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

One option is to look for part-time work on or near campus. Many colleges and universities offer job opportunities to their students, such as working in the campus bookstore, library, or dining hall. These jobs often have flexible schedules and can be a good way to earn some extra money.

Another option is to explore online job opportunities. There are many websites and apps that offer part-time or freelance work, such as tutoring, data entry, or content writing. These jobs can often be done remotely, which can be convenient for students who have a busy class schedule.

Students can also consider selling items they no longer need or want, such as textbooks, clothing, or electronics, through online marketplaces such as eBay or Craigslist.

It's important to keep in mind that any job or opportunity to make money will require some level of effort and time commitment. It's also important to prioritize academics and make sure that any job or opportunity does not interfere with coursework or other responsibilities.

There are various ways to make money while in campus other than working in school, getting online jobs or selling used products. Here are some ideas:

Tutoring: If you are knowledgeable in a particular subject, you can offer tutoring services to other students who need help in that subject. You can advertise your services on campus bulletin boards or social media.

Freelancing: You can leverage your skills and offer your services as a freelancer. For example, if you are good at writing, graphic design, or programming, you can offer your services on platforms such as Fiverr, Upwork or Freelancer.

Photography: If you have a good camera and an eye for detail, you can offer your photography services to people on campus or in the community. You can offer to take photos at events or for businesses.
Event planning: If you have good organizational skills, you can offer event planning services to organizations on campus or in the community. You can plan events such as parties, fundraisers, or conferences.
Pet-sitting or house-sitting: You can offer your services to students or faculty members who need someone to watch their pets or house while they are away.

Delivery services: You can offer delivery services to other students on campus. For example, you can deliver groceries, food or laundry for a fee.

Remember, whatever you choose to do, make sure it doesn't interfere with your studies or violate any school policies. Good luck!
