I don't know this for a fact, but I think it certainly seems so! Look at how Instagram and Facebook created 'Stories' which mimics the Snapchat functionality that existed long before!

Yes absolutely. When one social media company becomes more favorable and trendy other social media apps will try to identify those trends. If those trends remain popular, existing social media companies will make every attempt to implement those favored features to their own apps.

TikTok's success has spread to Snapchat, YouTube, and other platforms, for instance.
On YouTube, there's "Shorts" where content creators share clips on their channel. That's a recent feature. Snapchat seems to model TikTok through it's "Spotlight" feature. They added that tool back in 2020.

While I haven't worked at those companies before I do know it is common for product managers to do competitive analysis, where we look into what other companies operating in the same space have done, what worked for them etc. So different social media companies definitely keep tabs on what new features are being released by their competitors, and analyze how that has worked out for them!
