Hello Teddy,

Before taking the leap to switch colleges, it's a great idea to visit a few other campuses first. This way, you can get a feel for the environment and see if it's a good fit for you. While you're there, make sure to gather information about which of your current courses can be transferred. It's important to remember that during the transfer process, there's a chance that not all of your credits will be accepted, which might mean having to retake some classes.

Don't forget to consider the benefits of attending a community college. If you're feeling a bit lost or unsure about which college to choose, spending a semester at a community college can be a helpful stepping stone while you figure things out.

Wishing you all the best on this exciting journey!

T.J.’s Answer

Hello Teddy!

The process of transferring schools depends on the institution. It can be easy or complicated.

While I don't know your exact situation, here are some things to think about.

First, I would ask yourself, "Why do you I feel like transferring?"

There are many common reasons to transfer:
- Environment: a student may not enjoy the campus they're in, or the specific town. This could be due to the place not fitting personal values, or the town is too loud or quiet.

- Academic program: a student may want to transfer, because they feel the program(s) at their school is lacking. Lacking in a sense that the coursework doesn't provide anything of value in terms of knowledge, networking for personal career goals.

- Administration, or Management: A student may transfer because the admins don't take action in favor of their students. They may not care about the people, despite their words or promises.

Some of these issues can improve, or be worked around. Maybe a student decides to switch their major, travel nearby cities to find things to do that fit their vibe, or ignore what the upper levels are doing to graduate.

However, if you feel a strong disconnect with a college, you can switch your path.

Ultimately, you are the person investing into college. Make decisions that reflect your needs.

Just make sure that you speak with your Academic Advisor 𝘼𝙉𝘿 that your credits will transfer to the next school.
You should aim for a very transfer-friendly college that accepts most or all of your work. If not, you'll need to take (and pay) for more classes to graduate.

Sending you good luck on your journey in college :)
