Amy’s Answer

That all depends on what your major is and what you want to do. Many times this changes after graduation.
Don't be surprised after graduation you end up in a bit of a slump. 4 years of being told what to do, the change is hard.
As far as a career goes, talk to professors, college counselors. If you have an idea of what you want, find someone who does this to shadow. Or find a paid internship. Don't be surprised if you start to change your mind after those experiences. That's what this time is for, exploration. Unless an absolute must, do not go straight into a masters program. Take a year to work, volunteer, and figure out who you are and what you want. Post grad work is expensive. Depending on your field, may not be needed.

Amy recommends the following next steps:

Reach out to professors
Reach out to advisors
Contact thos in the field for shadowing or internships

Craig’s Answer

I would recommend taking the time to make a resume that focuses on describing your transferrable skills. These are skills that can be used in multiple fields and go beyond subject matter expertise. If you wrote many research papers, then you can describe your ability to take a topic, do research and write a report (or marketing material, essay, blog copy, and so forth). If you were part of a club and helped put on events, that is your ability to plan and organize events for audiences. Look up information on the Functional Resume format and try this activity.

Creating such a resume may give you a lift by showing yourself what you have accomplished and can accomplish. And it may show you areas you can improve or suggest a career path.

Craig recommends the following next steps:

Create a functional resume
