I’m a clinical social worker and I specialize in providing dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). A typical day starts at 10:15 for me (I like to attend yoga class right up the street at 9). I see about four to five clients for 45-50 minute individual therapy or perhaps one person for a 90-minute intake. I might also have a 90-minute skills group that I co-facilitate. I’m able to work from work or from home. I finish my notes, and then I’m home at about 6:15 every night. It’s a fantastic work life though it took me ten years of consistent hard work to get to the top of my field and workplace.

I have a 9am-5pm work day as a support coordinator for people with disabilities. I can roughly fit in 3 care team meetings with a participants allied health team and themselves. Its mostly paperwork and a few home visits each week, 3 to keep things moving or 8 if i want to be busy. Report writting usually finishes the day.
