Hi Victoria,

It's a great question, below are couple of tips that I would recommend in terms of goal setting.

1. Visualize your ideal future. Before you create your goals, you have to decide what you want to achieve and based on that you should write down your goals.
2. Set SMART goals, these are the goals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-Specific goals.
3. Always prioritize your goals during your studies as well as later in your career.
4. Great tip for managing long-term goals is to break them into short-term goals that will keep you motivated to work towards your long-term objectives.
5. It's very important to make a plan to track your progress regularly.
6. Be flexible with your goals and objectives. If you see that something doesn't work out in terms of achieving your goals, you will need to change your steps towards achieving that goal.

I love setting SMART goals. There are many articles online about this topic, and this kind of structured goal is really effective at actually achieving them. Especially short-term goals needs to be --
* Specific
*Measuarable
*Actionable
*Realistic
*Time-bound

Long term goals - dream big. Don't limit yourself.
