Hey, I only see questions 7-10, but I can help. I spent 8 years at my first fire department, where I landed a spot as a fire investigator. I then transferred to another agency and helped start and then led their fire investigations, fire inspections and community education programs. While there I was also a sworn law enforcement officer. I medically retired from that agency due to a hearing disability and now do fire protection inspections in the private sector for a large multinational company.
The only shadows I did a bunch of was after I was interested in doing fire investigations. Thats where I learned a lot of the knowledge I got. I did follow some other inspectors from neighboring agencies to get the idea of how their programs ran, but not much.
No schools or clubs are associated with my job near where I am. I am a member of a few professional organizations.
I am not great at math. Anything beyond basic algebra/geometry is greek to me.
I learned so much its hard to write everything. The biggest was probably how to work with people. Explaining to someone their house burned down or they need to spend tens of thousands of dollars on safety equipment to keep their business running is a hard thing to do, and doing it well is even harder yet. I also learned all the skills associated with firefighting and police work. I attended police training for my state, and had almost a decade of firefighting before I did inspections.
Hope this helps
