Hi Daniel! When looking for a college I would think about what is important to you. Do you want to go to a college near home? How much do you want to pay for your degree? Are there certain experiences or things you want out of college?
Computer science is a great area to go into and jobs are in demand- no matter where you go to college, having a degree in computer science will set you up to find a job easily.
You can see what the college computer science programs are ranked as. I would maybe look for programs that you set up with an intereship or experience along with earning your degree.
I hope that helps!

I think that you should pick the college that best fits YOU. The best parts of computer science/programming is that there is so much you can learn online in addition to in-person class. You can still become skilled in multiple languages without going to a top school! So make the decision that best fits your priorities (e.g., financial aid, location, support programs)

Hello Daniel! Megan definitely made a great point. Almost every college or university has strong computer science programs. The more important question to think about is your other preferences, like location, academics/grades, finances, future goals, and so on. For some people, starting at a local Junior College is an excellent choice because you can complete the basic computer science courses while figuring out your next steps. Many people choose this path and then transfer to a full college after a year or two. If you have the grades and ability to go directly to a 4-year college, you'll have more options. You can quickly search for the top-ranked programs in your area and across the country if that's what you're interested in. The top programs can open up more immediate opportunities but are usually more costly and competitive for admissions.
I recommend talking to your high school college counselor about this. They can offer more specific advice based on your situation. The great news is that you really can't make a wrong choice. Computer science is an amazing field, and there will always be a need for skilled professionals.
Earning a full 4-year degree, no matter which path you choose, will give you significant advantages in the job market and beyond.
