What is the first step to become a singer?
Hi! I'm in 7th grade and I really want to be a singer. I have taking singing lessons and people tell me I can sing. I just want the whole world to know that too. How do I let the world know. What is the first step to get recognized.

Go ahead and share it online! While it may seem challenging at first, uploading a video of your singing on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram is a great way to connect with a broader audience. Remember, gaining recognition may take a while, so staying patient is crucial in this journey. Best of luck to you!

TikTok is a great platform for getting yourself seen. You can post vids of you singing there and get a following there. Just being able to sing by itself isn't enough though, imo. You should learn how to write songs as well. Once you do that, you can start making custom content and make a YouTube as well. You wanna build a following so ask your friends if they can follow you on Instagram and TikTok.
The hard part is making professional content that you can put on Spotify. Eventually, you want a professional to mix your music for you. You may not notice it, but music you mix yourself is at a far lower quality from what you hear on the radio- that's why we need audio engineers. You can also teach yourself audio engineering, but this can be expensive and time-consuming. It took me 5 years to become comfortable with my audio engineering skills, and even then, I still struggle with it sometimes.
I say all of this assuming you wanna be an artist. Another piece of advice is that, unfortunately, right now, quantity matters more than quality. You can make the best video in the world, but if it's first video, it still probably won't be seen. The algorithms of these apps like TikTok and YouTube start recommending you to people once you make a LOT of content and people start seeing you more.
The last bit of advice is that it can be VERY difficult to make money as a musician. Having connections and meeting the right people is extremely important. So, like with any other career, you have to work VERY hard to make it happen. So given the advice I've given, work really hard with it.
Good luck!

Consider if the following points resonate with you and if you're ready to focus on these parts of yourself:
1. Is it easy for you to remember tunes?
2. Do you pay attention to the pitch of musical notes?
3. Do you believe you sing on key?
4. When reading poetry or a passage, do you keep listeners engaged?
5. Is your voice distinct and appealing?
If you possess these qualities, you can start searching for a singing teacher who will help you:
1. Strengthen your vocal muscles to accurately hit and sustain notes,
2. Memorize musical notes mentally, and
3. Learn the details and variations of the music genre you wish to pursue.
If your motivation to become a singer is not rooted in the pure joy of singing or a deep need for self-expression through song, I strongly recommend not entering this field. Success in this area requires complete passion, as well as unwavering dedication and effort.

Dear Zoe,
I hope this message finds you and your family well. Your desire to help in the world with your gift of singing is wonderful I wish you all the best. I will tell you many people have the same dream as you have which is okay just want to give you an understanding of how things are in the world. If I told you to sing for the people you live around would that constitute the world for you? What I'm really asking around you, in love with fame and fortune or would you sing anywhere for the sake of anybody without being paid? I hope this doesn't sound cruel as it's not meant to be.
Continue to sing and bring joy to others and then if you want to be singing for paying audiences, traveling, being interviewed, that is what you envision for yourself you and those who guide you will have to create a business for yourself. You have good advice from the other people who responded to your question. Think about what it is that you want and don't think of it so much as being something way off in the future. Your future is inside of you right now along with all the things you need to succeed. I hope what I'm about to say explains my last sentence. Here is an example to sing in front of a sea of people like we all see famous entertainers sing, it takes a process. Keep being a good person and respect your elders, remain humble, keep practicing, appreciate your audiences, have something to say through your singing to them, and the opportunities will come. Break a leg!
