Edward’s Answer

Try out math and science focused classwork in school and see how you like it. That is a big part of the engineering aerospace curriculum (true for engineering broadly), so it is important to enjoy that work. If it feels like a good fit, pursue a Bachelor's Degree. You should also research potential career paths and companies to pursue after completing your degree, so you can focus your study in relevant sub-disciplines. Aerospace Engineers tend to be highly desirable, and developing skills in this area can open up doors across various career paths. Lastly, not all colleges and universities offering Aerospace Engineering degrees, but there are many similar degrees such as Mechanical, Materials, and Industrial engineering that can also lead to careers in aerospace engineering. Keep that in mind when searching for schools.

Bill’s Answer

Complete your BS degree at a fully accredited university. Get some experience along the way to understand the many sub disciplines- including systems, software, hardware, structures etc. Find a mentor or multiple mentors, including professionals, professors, grad students, and related technical workers across the field. Focus on what you love to do - try a variety of things early and often.
Enjoy the journey !
