Does submitting act/sat scores to test optional schools increase your odds of being accepted?
When you are applying for colleges there is now an option to not send in you sat/act scores. If you are trying to attend would submitting these scores help increase the likely hood of attending or does it make no difference.

Hi Chloe!
More often than not, submitting your SAT/ACT score will be beneficial to you as an applicant. It's a testament to your hard work, and shows colleges your ability to think at a high level. If you are applying to a competitive school in which your score is significantly below the average, you may find it useful to not send in your score, and really focus on strengthening the other parts of your application (your writing for the prompts). Your decision to submit your SAT/ACT score should be on a school by school basis.
Cheers,
Rian

I would recommend sending your test scores because it adds another representation of you as a student and strengthens that application if scores met previous standards. It has typically been a standard requirement. However, if scores are lower than standards, then consider focusing on other aspects of your application that you may be able to build up such as volunteer experience. Per a google search "However, they are not required to send in their standardized test scores. If scores are not sent, the school simply bases their admission decision off the rest of the application. Remember, the university will not look negatively upon students who choose to not submit test scores."

I believe it's likely beneficial to submit your scores. Particularly, if you devoted time to study and participate in the exams, it demonstrates your dedication and strong work ethic. In the realm of college applications, nothing is genuinely "optional." The more information you provide about yourself, the more well-rounded an applicant you'll become!
