Do all colleges have a week where application does not have a fee?

Is it only a select few? Where can I find the information for it?

Hi, Sarah! The week you're referring to is often called "College Application Week" or "College Knowledge Month," and it's not a universal event across all colleges. Instead, it's typically organized by individual states or regions, often with the help of local educational organizations and colleges. During this week, participating colleges often waive their application fees to encourage more students to apply, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds or low-income families.
Here's how you can find out if and when such an event is happening in your area:
1. State-specific programs. Many states have their own College Application Week or similar initiatives. You can find more information on your state's education department website.
For example:
California: https://californiacollegeapply.org/apply-week
Texas: https://www.applytexas.org/solutions/programs/college-application-week
New York: https://www.hesc.ny.gov/collegereadiness/apply-for-college/apply-week.html
2. National organizations. Some national organizations also promote College Application Week. For instance, the American College Application Campaign (ACAC) is a national initiative that helps high schools and communities increase the number of students pursuing a postsecondary education.
It's essential to note that even if a college doesn't participate in a fee waiver event, they may still offer fee waivers based on financial need or other criteria. You can usually find information about fee waivers on the college's admissions website or by contacting their admissions office directly.
I hope I helped you, and now this stuff is much clearer for you! Good for you at applying, everything would be great im sure! With love, Darya

Hi Sarah,

Great question! Save that application money!

October is college application month and when many colleges offer a waived fee. There is typically a college application week and it looks like North Carolina is Oct 16-20
Check out the college foundation of north carolina for more info- https://www.cfnc.org/apply-to-college/nc-countdown-to-college/

I would check with your counselor to find out about schools that offer waived fees
Many college campuses will waive the fee if you do a college campus. You can also ask the colleges you are interested in about a waived fee.

Also check out https://www.commonapp.org where you can apply to many colleges at once for free

Hope this helps!
