Daniel’s Answer

Hi Lyla!

The drive I have for my career is brought on by wanting to learn/grow, enable our family to have a good life, and wanting my team to succeed in their life/job. The best kept secret I can give you is if you surround yourself with good, honest, and hard working individuals it matters less what you do. So many people (as was I) are focused on finding the perfect job they love or turning a hobby into a job. Of course, that is ok and I hope everyone can work their number one dream job. However, in reality you may not be able to work your dream job for a variety of reasons. My advise is find a job you like and surround yourself with amazing/smart people. You will probably be surprised how much they can teach you and what you get out of the job daily.

People are the secret sauce to a business succeeding/failing. If I could suggest one business book to read it would be the book below. It really changes your perspective on the impact you can have in your daily job. Good luck on the journey!

Emerson’s Answer

I’ll keep this short. Every now and then I’ll ask myself “would younger me look up to current me?” Simply putting it in that perspective helps me be the proactive person I am. Inspiring others and becoming those role models I had as a kid really fills me with that drive.

Because at the end of the day… yeah you kind of have to care about what other people think… but what really matters is how you feel! It ain’t that deep really :)
