Hi, Sophia,

When college searching, look at the following points:

- Tuition cost.
- Financial aid options and % of students who receive financial aid.
- % of students who graduate debt-free or with limited debt.
- Post-graduate job placement rates and graduate school placement rates.
- Location and housing options.
- The availability of a major or class(es) that interest you.
- Work study, research lab, or other on-campus job and volunteer opportunities.

Kali’s Answer

HI! I`m a senior at Towson University and hopefully can provide some clarity. It all factors into how important a career is, and its image. Some just want a good education in tech and will get certifications or join the department in their local college. Some only want the best of the best and apply to schools like MIT and Virginia Tech. Personally for myself, I wanted something close by, with reasonable tuition, and a good Computer Information Sciences program, so I chose Towson! University of Maryland, College Park was also a factor however tuition was too high for what I was comfortable with. Hope I provided some insight but feel free to message me if you'd like!

Thank you for your question. Many students may have similar question. Firstly, you may have to decide what major and minor you would like to take in the college. Different college have different strength on different subjects.
Below are my suggestions :
1. Decide what subjects you would like to take as the major and minor of the college
2. Find out the review, ranking and entry criteria of the colleges on the subjects you would like to attend
3 Identify a few colleges you have interest and you can meet their entry criteria
4. Attend the information session hosts by the faculty. Speak to the professors if possible
5. Do a campus visit
6. Prepare for the application
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
