What are some tips for the Comp TIA A+?
Hi! I'm looking to enter IT. One piece of advice given to start in IT near end of college is to get the A+ cert, a.k.a the CompTIA A+ certification.
What are some tips to know for the A+? What are common easy areas while practicing for the exams? On the flip side: What are common challenges of practicing for the exams?

Would say that it depends on what role in IT you want to obtain.
In general my advice would be to act with an intrinsic motivation, not just to have a job but to be eager to learn fast.

Hey Chiara
Great question. I would think something as specific as that, YouTube would be your best friend. I would type in these questions on YouTube so you can listen to real life people who actually do that specific thing, talk about their experiences. And chatgpt will also have a long list of tips that can help you as well.
Good luck God bless.

Hi Chiara,
I started studying for the CompTIA Networking exam and have been using https://freebootcamp.net/free/ as well as a study guide created by CompTIA. The website should have some free tools for the path you seek or you can use YouTube to find a facilitator that best aligns with how you learn.
Here is an Amazon link to the study guide for A+: https://a.co/d/9jTwwP6
Good Luck on your journey!
with positive vibes,

Hi Chiara,
As other have suggested YouTube is your friend and I would suggest Professor Messer's playlists. These videos and study guides helped me pass three of the Comptia certification's: A+, Network+ and Security+. What I did it printed off the list of topics from Comptia and as I went through the videos I would check off the list the ones I felt confident with and highlighted the ones I needed to understand better.
Hope this helps and good luck

Hi Chiara, The very old IT role definition was referring to technical support or IT operation role. However, IT role has been expanded dramatically for the last few decades. For instance, a developer (in JAVA, SQL, Python) who develops business applications within a company will work in IT organization. The A+ certificate may help you to get an IT job but is not a hard requirement.
