What is your favorite aspect about your job? How are you doing? Why did you choose this career path? When can I start?

I am a rising senior at the moment with a proclivity towards business administration and entrepreneurship and writing. Currently, I am co-authoring a book and am working to establish a digital marketing agency with a couple friends. However, on the way I've encountered multiple internal and external challenges to bringing these projects to fruition, so I'm always looking to include more people in my life whom I can learn from and who I can hopefully return the favor for.

Having published a couple books, run a couple companies and worked my way up the ladder to being an executive personal assistant, I can give you several points of advice:
1. Delegate. Andrew Carnegie - the richest man in his time - was the head of the biggest steel corporation yet openly admitted he knew nothing about the manufacturing of steel. What he knew was how to delegate. He surrounded himself with all the people he needed to run his business.
2. Focus. Build a dream of the life you want to live and then move toward it. No matter what happens in life, get back on track. Focus on your dream and do anything you can to take a step towards it. Don't allow present circumstances to halt your progress or keep you from trying something.
3. Learn. Do not make the mistake of thinking you know it all. Never ever stop learning. No matter how much you know, the world is constantly changing - which means there is stuff you need to learn. Putting time into self improvement is time that will never be wasted. Even the most wealthy people spend thousands of dollars to be coached so they can learn to be better people.

Thank you comment icon Thank you so much for the advice, it truly helped a lot and I've thought about some of the same things that you've talked about. I've learned from Robert Kiyosaki's book that we should be surrounding ourselves with people who are proficient in different skills and careers. I've always felt that I let the present affect me too much, like getting rejected from hundreds of jobs has always depleted my morale for the rest of the day. Shlok
Thank you comment icon Try not to let it get you down. Listen to any grain of advice you might get and treat each no or failure as a chance to learn. Thomas Edison got "feedback" 10,000 times before reaching his goal of creating a light bulb. Keep your eyes firmly fixed on your vision. Good luck out there - sounds like you are on the right track! What do you love most about your work? The highlight of my role is the constant learning opportunities it presents. It's a job that allows me to not only fulfill my daily duties but also engage with various employee groups, each with their unique focus, attention, and responsibilities. This role offers a plethora of resources to employees, aiding them in expanding their knowledge across diverse business areas.

How have you been? I'm doing wonderfully well. I thoroughly enjoy my day job. It allows me to work with individuals, lead a team, and apply my interpersonal skills alongside the technical expertise I've acquired over time.

What led you to this career path? My journey to this career was somewhat unplanned. I evolved into the role, it wasn't my initial choice and doesn't align with my bachelor's degree. But remember, it's quite common to switch paths several times in your career.

When can I begin? You're welcome to start whenever you feel ready.
Thank you comment icon I will use this advice as I prepare for my career. Shlok

Hello Shlok! It's truly inspiring to see a rising senior like you engage in such exciting projects. Allow me to share some insights from my journey as a software engineer. What I cherish most about my role is the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives through my programming skills. I was drawn to this profession because of my fascination with coding and the sense of fulfillment I derive from helping others resolve their issues. My approach to problem-solving involves breaking them down into manageable tasks, and the sense of accomplishment I get after completing each task is truly gratifying. Sure, there are moments of frustration, but the thought of my work benefiting the community gives me the strength to overcome the challenges. It appears that you're on the path to achieving something remarkable. Keep pushing forward, and best of luck!
