Layla,
The "medical field" is such a diverse world with many different types of career opportunities, such as information technology, administration, and frontline care giving. As a clinically practicing family medicine PA, I work directly with patients of all ages to help them improve their health, and this is essentially what I was trained for.
I would say that one of the most unique things about direct, frontline health care is that it's a people career, where you will meet and interact with other people. And in family medicine, I get to see patients for repeat, follow-up visits to build trusting therapeutic relationships with them, which is cool. Another aspect of medicine I enjoy is lifelong learning, which means I'm constantly reading, evaluating, synthesising, and applying evidence-based medicine to be the best healer I can be.
I hope this is helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions I can help you with.
