What career should I go/look into?

What is the best career or what should I look into, I am 16 years old and I am interested in architecture but I’m not sure if it’s for me I also think I would like business as I would want to have my own.

Tiarra’s Answer

Your career should be based on your interests, since you are interested in both architecture and business, maybe you could pursue both. By doing this, you are expanding your field and increasing your likelihood of attaining a job because if a certain market is not as advantageous because of an economic downfall, you have another field to depend on. Try out online software or websites that allow you to delve into architecture and build structures on websites, enhance your craft. Architecture and business are lucrative fields and who knows, maybe with a portfolio with both architecture and business you can run your own business or serve as a leader that helps transform an existing business. By studying business and architecture, maybe you could intern at an architect business and maybe you can gain a job helping to improve an existing business, using knowledge you gained from business school. It sounds like you are on the right track. There are also online job quizzes you can take.

Molly’s Answer

Hello Martin!

This is a great question! Simply answered, I would recommend to step your foot into multiple areas. If you find that what you are currently in or studying does not satisfy and appeal to what you want to do in the future, then you can easily shift away from that one area and focus in another. In college, I knew that I wanted to focus my studies in general business. However, that is all I knew. After focusing my studies in multiple areas of business, I found my way into Human Resources where I currently am working in today. I received my MBA focusing specifically in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources, and currently have a position as an Human Resources Administrator for a Sam's Club distribution and fulfillment center. You will never know what you like until you dip your foot in the water and tread through several areas!

I hope this helped, and good luck in your endeavors!

Thank you
Molly H.
