Should I do Business school first or cosmetology school first? ?

My name is Dajae I'm 16 years old and a junior in high school. School is going by pretty fast and I was curious about the career I wanna go into in the future. My ultimate goal is open a salon for makeup but I wanted to know what to do first.

That's a fantastic question! The first step is to head to cosmetology school. This gives you a great opportunity to dive into the industry, build up a loyal customer base, and maybe even learn from a seasoned professional as an apprentice. Plus, you'll be doing something you're passionate about! You get to learn, gain valuable experience, and make money all at the same time. And the best part? You can do all this while you're still in business school.

Acquiring the skills first so you can build up your experience and potential customer base would be the way I’d go. Business school and definitely flesh out your knowledge, but you can also learn a lot from just doing the work!

Good luck!

Hello Dajae! for personal experience I would do business school and the cosmetology school after. because with BS you are going to gain so much knowledge on how to administer you job and also, as bad as it sounds, if cosmetology school doesnt work you at least have another degree and you can look for jobs in different areas.

Hey Dajae, it's great that you're thinking ahead about your future career! Since you're interested in opening a makeup salon, both paths have their benefits. Going to cosmetology school could give you hands-on experience and knowledge in the field, while business school could provide the skills needed to run your own salon successfully. You might also consider a combination – learning about business aspects and then specializing in makeup through additional training. Just remember, whatever you choose, keep your passion alive and stay determined. Your journey is unique, and you've got time to figure out the best route for you.
