You want a career with great opportunities for the future? Become an electrician. I'm serious. There is a huge shortage of people in the skilled trades. Think of this: what is the growth of the electric vehicle industry going to be in the next ten years? Huge or enormous? All those electric cars going into old garages need chargers installed...which almost everywhere requires a licensed electrician. Everyone I know that is in a building trade has as much work as they want to take on, and if they are honest and good they are making a VERY nice living.
Good luck!

Hi Daniel, thank you for your question. The best career option is what you have interest most.
Below are my suggestions:
1. Think about what you have interest, eg your hobbies, favourite subjects, etc and identify the related subjects
Eg if you are interested in music, would you like to be a musician, singer, musical actor, music producer, music composer, etc
If you are interested in maths, would you like to be an accountant, banker, engineer, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to some who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career counsellor, parents, etc
4. Shortlist 1-2 careers you would like to pursue
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in the college
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Considering my own journey, I'd say there's no one-size-fits-all answer. Think about your skills and interests – they can guide you toward a path that feels right. Trades like plumbing, electrician work, or HVAC can be solid choices without a college degree. Embracing entrepreneurship, like I did with my wife's company, might also be worth exploring. Stay open-minded and willing to learn – that's how I found my way.

If you are looking for a career that is always looking for people and growing, I would look into Cybersecurity. There is a shortage and most companies are hiring. It is a career that offers great opportunities, you can work from almost anywhere and the pay is good (once you get experience it gets better).
Good luck!

Hi Daniel,
I really think business is a great field to go into since it keeps your options wide open. That way you are not committing to one specific field and find out later that you hate it. Some fields in business include:
1. Operations
2. Finance
3. Sales
4. Marketing
5. Human Resources
I decided to go into Business Operations since operations touches almost every facet of the organization. I enjoy the different challenges and operations also gives me the flexibility to try new things. Another great aspect about operations is they usually support the other divisions of an organization. Since, there are many divisions of an company if you do not enjoy one area its not a big deal since you can support other areas of the business.
Many larger companies will start you in a rotational analyst program. By doing this you will get to see usually 2-4 different sections of the business. Companies offer this to not only help you hone in on your career path but many companies have realized that if there employees actually enjoy their job they will get better overall performance.
Hope the above helps and good luck on the journey!

Hello Daniel,
I do not know where you are at the stage; yet I highly recommend to surf the internet.
If you are in college/middle school, you can be a volunteer; that is a unique opportunity for the further steps you will eventually move forward. Or you can join a club includes projects, trips, and/or open for the application to summer school in the future. You can add your hard and soft skills on your CV.
If you are in high school right now, you can be either a volunteer and/or an intern; these will be a benefit for skill development and you can contribute your time to work towards duties. You can be a volunteer for 3 up to 4 weeks/months (depends on their requirements: have a look at their specific requirements on job board), so that you can secure your internship role in the future. After a long volunteering journey, you can be an intern for companies which supports students for your career pathway. An internship is an opportunity to not only contribute your time to work towards do something, it also allows you to step your career. You may have limited time to look what else you can take for application, requirements, benefits, and more advantages on being an intern on details on the website, yet you will inspire your friends & classmates, proud your family, and mesmerise others.
If you are at the university at the moment, you may look at their job announcements on career hub. You have to follow up their application process and your future progress on volunteering, internship, and part-time job. A part-time job will be an advantage for the future career step, and allows you to have a rewarding experience with your emotional intelligence skills, interview, and group work skills (hard and soft skills). It may be challenging for you, yet you can develop yourself to be a changemaker.
I hope this helps.

Online job platforms are fantastic, cost-free tools to explore the variety of job openings available, especially if you're focused on certain locations. I believe there's a wealth of opportunities in technology and big data fields. These sites also offer plenty of insights into job trends and future predictions. But remember, the key to a fulfilling career is passion. So, take the time to truly understand what these jobs involve. Talking to people who are already in these roles can provide invaluable insights. It's your career, make sure it's one you love!

We have a shortage of qualified electricians throughout the country. With everything going solar generated and battery power , it will only be more demanding. It pays very well and work opportunities are in every state.
