Hey, Lateesha! 👋
First, thank you for your willingness to devote your time to volunteering. There are so many volunteer opportunities that can put your love of animals to use toward a good cause!
Animal shelters and nonprofit rescue organizations are almost always seeking volunteers to help with various tasks. Some common volunteer opportunities include keeping their facilities clean, socializing and providing enrichment for the animals by taking them on walks and playing with or petting them, opening your home to animals as a foster parent until they are adopted, training them to respond to basic commands, transporting animals, and assisting with the office administrative side of things by answering visitors questions, processing adoption paperwork, and more!
Many veterinary clinics will also accept volunteers for basic tasks like cleaning, restraining animals for procedures, and assisting with office duties. Another great option if you're interested in the medical side of animal care is reaching out to local wildlife rehabilitators. Wildlife rehabilitators typically operate with very little funding so volunteers are crucial to their operations, and they get to see a wide range of species and medical conditions which can be very exciting! You can view a list of wildlife rehabilitation facilities in California here. https://bit.ly/3rX5ySz
Most places will have opportunities for teens or have a program in place to allow teens to volunteer alongside an adult for supervision.
Best of luck in whichever volunteer opportunity you decide to pursue! The experience will look great on your future applications and resumes in the veterinary field. ✨

Hi Lateesha!
Just as Katelyn stated, you may check with the local animal shelters and/or veterinary office for volunteering opportunities. I remember volunteering at the local animal shelter years ago, in order to satisfy community service hours, and I had the best experience. I assisted with feedings, grooming and training for the animals there and it was very rewarding. I hope that you are able to find what you are looking for.
Wish you all the best!

Hello Lateesha,
There will vary volunteering options you can choose; but I highly recommend to surf the internet in advance; due to the fact that every talent is different than anyone else. Therefore, you may need to trst yourself what kind of veterinarian volunteering you want. You want to choose the best option, you may need to test yourself and match with all soft and hard skills, and emotional intelligence as well as your veterinarian practices. All processes are inportant for your fıture career. Have a look at job board on the internet, and see all the requirements that has been written on the page. You can also match your skills with your previous extracurricular experiences, interests, and how you discover your passion during your life. You will have some time to think about that. I can have a list of volunteering options here;
Volunteer: paperwork in head office Administrator
Photographer
Branch trustee
Volunteer speaker
Fostering and/or Pets at Home rehoming co-ordinator
Charity shop volunteer
Volunteer drivers
Fundraising
Home visitor
I hope this helps.
