How does a full day's work as a welder look throughout the year and how does that determine their salary ?
I'm curious about a full day of work for a welder. I understand that it's a long time but is it one job a day or one job for multiple days? Do you have to travel a lot to different jobs or is it in one place?

Welding is a very desired trade. And as stated, if you get the appropriate certifications and training it also can pay well. As far as the conditions and what the day looks like will largely be determined by what company hires you. Welders that construct buildings and other structures will generally work on site on a project that can last from a couple days to a couple years. The same companies will also have shop welders who construct the components at a company shop and then ship them to the site. Ther are other companies that have specialty work that can have you travel the entire globe. They also pay very well. You can again be gone for a couple days to a couple of years. The compensation for these types of jobs pays very well because of the time and distance compensation. In the production market there is generally a shop you work at each day every day for a set time. Take time to investigate what you want your day to look like and then pursue that type of job.

Welders go to school to learn how to properly execute welding techniques, serve an apprenticeship, take question exams and actual welding. Structural integrity of a weld is paramount. You experience the welded conditions daily---your automobile, airplanes, homes, offices, buildings, etc. Check your local steel fabricating shop to find out how the work is done.
