I've come to understand that careers can vary in terms of income. As for fashion design, it's important to research the industry and understand the potential earning opportunities. Speak with professionals in the field, consider the demand for fashion designers, and weigh your passion against financial stability before making a decision.

The typical salary for a fashion designer in the U.S. sits at $54,853, but don't let this figure limit your aspirations. Your choice to embark on this career journey encompasses more than just numbers. For example, your location can significantly impact your earnings, with opportunities varying between bustling cities and peaceful rural areas. Moreover, your unique skills and expertise can catapult your career to new heights.
If you choose to venture into freelance fashion designing, setting competitive rates for your work could be a game-changer. This could shift your financial status from merely getting by to enjoying a prosperous and fulfilling career. Remember, you have the potential to make this happen. Best of luck!

According to the salary statistic website Career Explorer, for the fashion design field the low salary is $37,500.00. The medium salary is $77,500.00. The high salary is $130, 900.00. But in my opinion that does not help much to know what professionals that are already in the industry are making. It doesn't help you because you cannot project how much you will make when you start your career.
Concern about going into a field where the salary is a worry does not help you make an honest decision about your choice. Some careers have the reputation of "making people rich" but there's a lot more to it than meets the eye and I can't give any advice on what will cause you to obtain money. No one knows how much you will make in the future and nothing is guaranteed. It will depend on the steps you take towards your goal.
Instead, let's look at the factors that go into how much money people make. You may go into fashion design, but that may not be your only way you earn a salary or income. You don't know if you will work by project, for a company or for yourself. If you work for a company, you will earn whatever they offer if you accept it. Education and experience also ties in with earning potential and gives you an advantage over people that have less experience or did not go to fashion school. Another factor to look at is location. Your chances of earning more are greater in a large city than in a suburb. So, although no one can say yes, you'll be a millionaire or you'll be poor, these are some aspects of earning potential that increase your chances of higher salaries. The salary statistics that are gathered may not be accurate for you once you land that perfect job or work for many people as a designer. You may even develop an additional talent that could increase your earning even further. Going to fashion school can probably clarify things for you as you go along. Don't let future earnings be a stumbling block for you. Go for your dream career and learn at each step. That's how careers are built, on real experiences.
I wish you all the best in such a creative and exciting career !
