Emily’s Answer

Most people work jobs that are unrelated to their eventual career field.

I am a teacher, but worked as a cook for many years.

All jobs can teach you something you can carry with you into other jobs or even just your personal life.

As you gain more time in your chosen career field and build your resume, you can start to leave those unrelated jobs off after some years.

DaSabria’s Answer

Many people, like you and me, don't initially land in their dream career. For instance, I began my journey in the military, handling human resources, but now I've found my true calling in the medical field. In your case, customer service is a stepping stone to your desired career in security. It equips you with valuable skills like issue resolution, effective communication, prompt response to emergencies, and the ability to make customers feel safe.

Remember, in many scenarios, security personnel are the first point of contact for customers in a business setting. Therefore, your customer service experience will seamlessly blend with your future role in security. I believe this information will guide you. Best of luck in your journey!

Any experience can be valuable. My journey started outside my current field, but skills like customer service and teamwork translate across industries. They show dedication and a strong work ethic. So, don't underestimate the worth of your past experiences – they can contribute to your success in Security & Protective Services too.
