Thomas’s Answer

Do you want to go into movie post production? Directing? Story telling/ writing? Producing? Film and any kind of creative fields have so many options to go into, just saying your major isn't always good enough. I would suggest starting a small business. Doing what? depends on what interests you. Also, while you build your business up and slowly get it going, you will probably need to get some other kind of job either in your industry or not. You can network and find potential work like that, or go into something that can be a good temporary job to make and save money.

Success’s Answer

First things first
There are a lot of job options for a film major including;
• Film director
• Costume designer
• Cinematographer
• Film editor
• Screen writing
• Camera operator
• Production designer
• Researcher
• Sound engineer
• Editing

Pick one job option you would love to explore and learn.
(Focusing on one job will help you gain knowledge faster)

You can start out by creating content for social media depending on what option you're going for.

Gain knowledge through practice, start submitting to industries.

Work on commercials, put it up on social media platforms.

Keep practicing, submit applications to industries.

[My thoughts: It is easier to gain clarity working for a company than starting out as a freelancer]

So which option would you love to go for?
